About Me

Hi and welcome to my blog! My name is Jayna and I’m so happy that you’ve found my page. I plan to use this space as an outlet to delve into my upcoming semester in Copenhagen, Denmark. But first, a little bit about me. I’m a current student at Bowdoin College majoring in Government and Legal Studies with a minor in English. In short, I really like to read, write, and have conversations about politics! When I’m not doing those things, I like to run, watch Netflix (recently finished Peaky Blinders), listen to podcasts, travel, and hang out with my friends. Interestingly enough, I’ve solo travelled throughout Europe before and have stayed with various host families, so I have a general feel of how to navigate life abroad. However, this time I’m with a few friends from college, studying something incredibly exciting (European Union Politics), and in a new place – Denmark! Through this blog, I hope to merge some of my past experiences with my current ones, and show you that truly anyone can study abroad. Join me on my journey!
The courses I’m taking this semester:
- European Game of Politics: Crisis and Survival (Core Course)
- European Storytelling: From Myth to Marvel
- Postcolonial Europe: Narratives, Nationalism, and Race
- Environmental Policy in Practice
- Ways of Seeing: Storytelling through Photography

Books I’ve Read Abroad
This past semester, with a bit more free time and flexibility in my schedule, I’ve been able to read more books than an average semester at my home college. Within the first week after moving in, I found my favorite bookstore here which is Politkens Boghal. In this post, I’ll share a few of myContinue reading “Books I’ve Read Abroad”
Spring Break in Nice, France!
When choosing a spring break location as a group, we were incredibly torn. Greece of course was on the top of our list, but it simply was not feasible given the short period of time and the accumulated costs. Then, when Nice was suggested, I was a bit hesitant. Personally, I had been to ParisContinue reading “Spring Break in Nice, France!”
